GENERAL FAIR WINDS JEWELRY POLICIES

ORDERING ONLINE
Payments from the Fair Winds Jewelry online store will be processed through Paypal. The Paypal portal accepts debit card or credit cards. When your payment has been processed you will receive an email confirming your order has been placed.

DELIVERY INFORMATION
Online purchases are subject to a postage and packaging charge the price of which depends on the purchase value and the shipping address. All US and Canada orders are insured and sent via US Postal Service. For International orders – Please contact us prior to your purchase as the best shipping method may change depending on the country you are in.

SHIPPING
Shipping via USPS Priority Mail on in stock orders is usually within 2 working days with delivery occurring approximately 2 to 8 days. We provide a tracking number when your item is shipped, so that you can anticipate delivery. Shipment on custom pieces will depend on the item with a minimum of 2 weeks from when the order is placed.

CUSTOM ORDERS/CONSULTATION
Fair Winds Jewelry offers a custom service allowing you to have a unique jewelry work of art designed especially for you. Fair Winds Jewelry offers a free design consultation via phone or video chat with principal designer, Barb Baur in order to fully understand your vision before we offer you a custom quote. Quotes on custom piece orders are valid for 21 days. In the case of fluctuation of material costs such as precious metals, we reserve the right to change prices or withdraw the quote with the customers approval.

CUSTOM ORDER PAYMENT TERMS
For made-to-order, commissioned and customized orders we require a 50% deposit as confirmation of your order before production can begin. We will send a detailed invoice via Paypal with the deposit balance. Payment of this invoice is your commitment to purchase. You will find that Fair Winds Jewelry will communicate with you extensively during the design and production of your piece from start to finish as we create your wearable work of art exactly how you want it.  Once completed, your balance will need to be paid in full before shipment of the order. Payment for custom orders can be made via Paypal or check mailed to P.O. Box 22116 Philadelphia, PA 19136. Checks must clear payment to the bank before the order will proceed.

CUSTOM ORDER CANCELLATION POLICY
A custom or customized order cannot be changed or cancelled once your deposit has been paid without approval from Fair Winds Jewelry. The deposit is your agreement and commitment to the order. Should you wish to cancel anyway, the deposit is forfeited to Fair Winds Jewelry.

RETURNS/REFUND POLICY
We want you to be elated with your jewelry work of art from Fair Winds Jewelry. If for any reason you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we are happy to offer an exchange or a credit within 30 days of purchase.  If you wish to return an item, please contact us immediately. We will not accept returns unless you have communicated with us prior to shipping the item back for a RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorization). Returned items must be shipped using a method that allows for package tracking and insured for the purchase value.

Commissioned and made to order pieces are exempt from both the refund and exchange policies, unless they are structurally faulty. Please see the policy on custom orders.
When ordering rings online it vital that you send an accurate ring size, several of our ring designs depend on this for the design process. If you are uncertain in any way, please contact us directly for assistance with ring sizing. Rings will be re-sized free of charge if the size is off by 2 sizes or less, but any further re-sizing will incur a charge of $70 per ring.

Please note that the cost of shipping is not refundable.

REFUNDS ON FUNDRAISING ITEMS
If you purchase an item during one of our fundraising sales that supporting a charitable cause, such as Usiloquy Dance Designs, the percentage of the proceeds donated to the charity will be deducted from the refund of the particular piece.

REPAIRS ON FAIR WINDS JEWELRY PRODUCTS
Handmade jewelry is always subject to slight imperfections created during the process and adds to the value of your piece. If you believe there is a fault in any of the work you receive from Fair Winds Jewelry, contact us immediately to communicate about the issue. If your piece becomes damaged please contact us about repairs.

REPAIRS ON OTHER JEWELRY
Fair Winds Jewelry principal designer, Barbara Baur is a fully qualified goldsmith/bench jeweler who will take on repairs, redesign and restoration of estate jewelry on a case by case basis. Contact us to discuss your needs.

ONE OF A KIND IMPERFECTIONS
Every piece of Fair Winds Jewelry is designed and finished by hand in our studio in Philadelphia. Handmade jewelry is always subject to slight imperfections created during the process, it is the “mark of the hand” and adds to the value of your piece. Small variations can occur even within the same pieces. If for any reason you are not happy with your order, please contact us within 30 days of purchase. Please refer to the ‘RETURNS/REFUNDS POLICY’’for more information.

The following Privacy Policy governs the online information collection practices of Fair Winds Jewelry D/B/A WWW.FAIRWINDSJEWELRY.COM. (“we” or “us”). Specifically, it outlines the types of information that we gather about you while you are using the www.fairwindsjewelry.com website (the “Site”), collectively, the “Services”, and the ways in which we use this information. This Privacy Policy, including our children’s privacy statement, does not apply to any information you may provide to us or that we may collect offline and/or through other means (for example, at a live event, via telephone, or through the mail).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By visiting and using the Services, you agree that your use of our Services, and any dispute over privacy, is governed by this Privacy Policy. Because the Web and Mobile platforms are evolving media, we may need to change our Privacy Policy at some point in the future, in which case we’ll post the changes to this Privacy Policy on the Site and update the Effective Date of the policy to reflect the date of the changes. By continuing to use the Services after we post any such changes, you accept the Privacy Policy as modified.

HOW WE COLLECT AND USE INFORMATION
We may collect and store personal or other information that you voluntarily supply to us online while using the Services (e.g., while on the Services or in responding via email to a feature provided on the Services). GOOGLE ANALYTICS
We also use Google Analytics Advertiser Features to optimize our business. Advertiser features include:

1. Remarketing with Google Analytics
2. Google Display Network Impression Reporting
3. DoubleClick Platform integrations
4. Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting

By enabling these Google Analytics Display features, we are required to notify our visitors by disclosing the use of these features and that we and third-party vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) or other first-party identifiers, and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to gather data about your activities on our Services. Among other uses, this allows us to contact you if you begin to fill out our check-out form but abandon it before completion with an email reminding you to complete your order. The “Remarketing” feature allows us to reach people who previously visited our Services, and match the right audience with the right advertising message.

FACEBOOK
As advertisers on Facebook and through our Facebook page, we, (not Facebook) may collect content or information from a Facebook user and such information may be used in the same manner specified in this Privacy Policy. You consent to our collection of such information.

We abide by Facebook’s Data Use Restrictions.

Any ad data collected, received or derived from our Facebook ad (“Facebook advertising data”) is only shared with someone acting on our behalf, such as our service provider. We are responsible for ensuring that our service providers protect any Facebook advertising data or any other information obtained from us, limit our use of all of that information, and keep it confidential and secure.

We do not use Facebook advertising data for any purpose (including retargeting, commingling data across multiple advertisers’ campaigns, or allowing piggybacking or redirecting with tags), except on an aggregate and anonymous basis (unless authorized by Facebook) and only to assess the performance and effectiveness of our Facebook advertising campaigns.

We do not use Facebook advertising data, including the targeting criteria for a Facebook ad, to build, append to, edit, influence, or augment user profiles, including profiles associated with any mobile device identifier or other unique identifier that identifies any particular user, browser, computer or device.

We do not transfer any Facebook advertising data (including anonymous, aggregate, or derived data) to any ad network, ad exchange, data broker or other advertising or monetization related service.

GENERAL DATA PRIVACY REGULATION (GDPR)
The GDPR takes effect on May 25, 2018, and is intended to protect the data of European Union citizens.
As a company that markets its site, content, products and/or services on line we do not specifically target our marketing to the EU or conduct business in or to the EU in any meaningful way. If the data that you provide to us in the course of your use of our site or services or products is governed by GDPR, we will abide by the relevant portions of the regulation.If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), or are accessing this site from within the EEA, you may have the right to request: access to, correction of, deletion of; portability of; and restriction or objection to processing, of your personal data, from us. This children’s privacy statement explains our practices with respect to the online collection and use of personal information from children under the age of thirteen, and provides important information regarding their rights under federal law with respect to such information.
The Services are not directed to children under the age of thirteen and we do NOT knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Services. We screen users who wish to provide personal information in order to prevent users under the age of thirteen from providing such information. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of thirteen as part of the Services, we will delete such information from our records. If we change our practices in the future, we will obtain prior, verifiable parental consent before collecting any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Services.

Because we do not collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Services, we also do NOT knowingly distribute such information to third parties.

HOW DO WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION?
Your information is stored at the list server that delivers our content and messaging. Your information can only be accessed by those who help manage those lists in order to deliver e-mail to those who would like to receive our material.

All of the messaging or emails that are sent to you by us include an unsubscribe link in them. You can remove yourself at any time from our mailing list by clicking on the unsubscribe link that can be found in every communication that we send you.

PURCHASES/CHECKOUT

We use WooCommerce for the ecommerce portion of our site.

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.

What we collect and store:
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
• Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
• Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
• Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order.

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example — Payments – We accept payments through PayPal on our website.
